To help alleviate boarding problems for families of non-local victims of the colored powder explosion, 12 additional hotels in Taipei will join others in providing complimentary stay for the family members of the injured victims after July 3. This brings the total number of hotels offering room-and-board assistance to 43.
Taipei City Government Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) Commissioner Chien Yu-yen expressed her gratitude towards these hotels and urged the families of victims to take advantage of the offer. TPEDOIT will also send letters of appreciation to these hotels soon.
Chien noted that since June 27, major hospitals in Taipei worked around the clock to provide medical treatment for the injured victims.
TPEDOIT Tourism Industry Division Chief Chang Kun-hai noted that more hotels have expressed a willingness to provide complimentary stays. Families of burn victims can either contact the hotels directly or call Citizen Hotline 1999 ext. 6897. TPEDOIT will also keep the hotels list updated.
