Are there public bikeways in riverside parks at present?

The City started to construct bikeways in riverside parks in 1997. It took 9 years to finish the circular trails along three rivers, i.e. Tamsui River, Keelung River, and Xindian River, in 2011. Starting from Jingmei in the south and Neihu in the east, the 112 kilometer bikeways stretching along right and left banks downstream to Guandu Wetland. Six bikeways of different characteristics, i.e., Keelung River Left and Right Banks Bikeway, Guandu Ecological Birdwatching Bikeway, Jingmei River Left and Right Banks Bikeway, Shezidao Scenic Bikeway, Shuangxi Stream Bank Bikeway, Xindian River and Tamsui River Exercising Bikeway, have been formulated based upon landscapes and distinguishing features of sigular river basin. The length of each bikeway is as follows:

  1. Tamsui River Bikeway: 9 km.
  2. Xindian River Bikeway: 8.5 km.
  3. Jingmei River Left and Right Banks Bikeway: Left Bank –3.8 km, RightBank –8.1 km.
  4. Keelung River Left and Right Banks Bikeway: Left Bank -22.2 km, Right Bank - 20.6 km.
  5. Shuangxi Stream Bikeway: 5.6 km.
