Nanshen Floodgate will be closed under two circumstances:

(1) When there is an imminent typhoon or water level of Sifen Stream rises up to EL.9.6 due to heavy rains.

(2) Its opening/closing function is tested regularly at a scheduled midnight monthly starting from April, one month before the flood season, to November every year.
