| Active goal: | In order to stimulate residents’ enthusiasm for participating in sporting events, and their sense of achievement, over the three-week period prior to the holding of the Disabled Sports National Championships on September 18, 2011,the Taipei Municipal Yang Ming Home for the Disabled organized intensive training sessions every day at 4:00 p.m. Live up to the expectation, the Men’s Team won the Bronze Medal in the Special Olympics Bocce event, while the Women’s Team won the Gold Medal in the Special Olympics Bocce event. On November 23, the residents visited the Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government, to present the medals and awards that they had won to Ms. Chiang Yi-Wen, the Commissioner of the Department of Social Welfare. Commissioner Chiang was delighted to receive the medals, and expressed the hope that the residents would continue to achieve even more outstanding results in the future, to win honor for both the Yang Ming Home and the Department of Social Welfare. |
