At the 2011 Christmas party, honored guests from the Taipei City Women’s Association, who also joined our Christmas party last year, were invited to spend the holiday with the residents. These honored guests not only brought excellent performances, but also donated the activity fee to the residents of the Vocational Development Section. The donation ceremony was held at the beginning of the event to express our gratitude to the Taipei City Women’s Association. Then, the December birthday celebrations took place. The representatives of the “birthday stars” happily sang “Happy Birthday” onstage, blew-out candles, and cut the cake. They were also presented with gifts from Superintendent, Sun Li-Chu, director-general of the Taipei City Women’s Association, Chen Shu-zhu, and the newly-elected president of the Parent’s Association, Lin Yun-hai.
Dr. Chang, a tenor invited by the Taipei City Women’s Association, sang beautiful Christmas songs and performed with the Qing Qing Chorus. In addition, The residents of the sign language club in the Vocational Development Section prepared three lovely sign language performances which received warm applauses from the audience. At the end, the Xiao Lu Band put on a glowing performance. The residents could not help but sway with the music, and sing and dance along, bringing this year’s joyous event to a successful close.
